Since 2008, Family Day has been held in Ontario on the third Monday in February. The day is designed to give Ontarians a mid-winter long weekend between New Year's Day and Easter. There will be plenty to do around the GTA when many Ontarians are given a break from work and school for Family Day on Monday. Many family-friendly events and activities are planned, in addition to the usual tourist draws, but some stores or services will be affected by the provincial holiday. Municipal buildings, including city hall
Canada Post offices located in retail outlets that will be closed for the day

Open Federal offices, including passport offices
Canada Post offices (mail will be delivered)
Tourist attractions and museums, including the AGO, ROM, CN Tower, Casa Loma, Hockey Hall of Fame and Toronto Zoo
Movie theatres
Some skating rinks and arenas
Many shopping centres, including Eaton Centre, Vaughan Mills, Pacific Mall, Square One The TTC will be operating on a holiday schedule, and GO Transit will run on a Saturday schedule. Have a safe and happy Family Day!
